SVJCT celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm, patriotism, and cultural splendour on campus. The entire campus was decorated in the tricolour theme, reflecting the spirit of unity, discipline, and national pride.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. The dignified presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Ravindra Gajanan Deo, eminent artist and social worker, added grace and inspiration to the occasion.

Students presented a vibrant cultural programme showcasing India’s rich heritage. The performances included patriotic group dances, folk dances, Lazim, Mallakhamb, and thematic dance sequences, which were highly appreciated by the audience. Each performance conveyed messages of national integration, discipline, and respect for Indian traditions.

In his address, Shri Ravindra Gajanan Deo motivated students to uphold constitutional values, develop creative thinking, and contribute positively to society. He highlighted the importance of art, culture, and social responsibility in nation building.

About the Chief Guest – Shri Ravindra Gajanan Deo

Born on 23rd March 1964 in Pune, Maharashtra, Shri Deo completed his G.D. Art (Commercial) from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune in 1985. His artworks have been exhibited at prestigious galleries such as Balgandharva Art Gallery, Pune; Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Mumbai; Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad, Bangalore; Art 2day Gallery, Pune; and Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. He has also participated in the Portrait Society of America Exhibition, Philadelphia (USA).

His paintings are part of national and international collections including All India Arts–UK, Working For Swaminarayan, Baroda, and private collectors in India. He has conducted art demonstrations in various schools, colleges, Akashwani, and NGOs, and has visited museums in Burma, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Rome, and Russia.

Shri Deo is an Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarni Sadasya of Sanskar Bharati, and actively associated with Rastriya Sarvangin Gramvikas Sanstha, Mulshi, Pune. He also serves as Chairman of Maharshi Karve Stri Shikshan Sanstha, a 126-year-old institution dedicated to women empowerment.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and distribution of refreshments. The Republic Day celebration at SVJCT successfully instilled a sense of patriotism, cultural pride, and social commitment among students and staff.
