The NSS Orientation Program for 2nd MBBS students was successfully conducted at BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College with the objective of enrolling new volunteers into the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit and familiarizing them with its vision, mission, and community-oriented activities. The program was organized under the guidance of the respected Director Madam, Dean Sir, and Academic Chairman Yadav Sir. The session commenced with the NSS Song, creating an atmosphere of unity, discipline, and dedication to social service. Dr. Chetan Javsen, NSS Program Officer, welcomed the students and faculty members and emphasized the significance of NSS in developing socially responsible, compassionate, and service-oriented medical professionals. He highlighted the role of NSS in rural healthcare services, community outreach programs, and the overall personality development of students. Mr. Chinmay Kulkarni delivered an informative session introducing the vision, mission, and objectives of the National Service Scheme. He explained the importance of NSS in nation-building and encouraged students to actively participate in community welfare initiatives. Adding a personal perspective, Ms. Asrinnesa Chaudhari and Ms. Manjusha Betker shared their experiences from various NSS activities conducted during the previous year, including health camps, awareness drives, and rural outreach programs. Their inspiring accounts motivated the students to become active contributors to social causes. A well-designed PowerPoint presentation prepared by Mr. Pauras Mhatre showcased the achievements and activities undertaken by the NSS unit of BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College. The presentation provided students with a comprehensive overview of the opportunities available through NSS participation. The orientation program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively interacted and expressed their interest in joining the NSS unit. The event concluded successfully, encouraging 2nd MBBS students to enroll as NSS volunteers and contribute meaningfully towards community service, social responsibility, and nation-building.
