The Dehdaan (Body Donation) and Organ Donation Awareness Week was successfully आयोजित from April 7 to April 13, 2026, by B.K.L. Walawalkar Rural Medical College & Hospital, Dervan. The primary objective of this initiative was to spread awareness about the importance of body and organ donation, dispel common myths, and inspire more citizens to participate in this noble cause. As part of the awareness week, the Department of Anatomy organized a series of informative lectures, guidance sessions, and public interaction programs at various locations. These included outreach activities at senior citizen groups in Khed, Swayampurta Foundation and Panchayat Samiti Devrukh, Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra in Chiplun, and Samarth Nursing College in Dervan. Experts provided detailed insights into the significance, legal aspects, societal need, and procedures related to body and organ donation. The programs received an enthusiastic response from citizens, senior citizens, students, and social organizations. Participants actively engaged in discussions, clarified their doubts, and expressed a positive outlook towards body and organ donation. The awareness week concluded on April 13, 2026, at the college campus, reaffirming the commitment to further spread awareness and encourage community participation in this life-saving initiative.
