The Department of ENT, B.K.L. Walawalkar Medical College, Dervan, Chiplun, successfully conducted a three-day Advanced FESS and Skull Base Cadaveric Dissection Workshop from 7th to 9th August 2026, complemented by 10 live rhinology surgeries. The programme featured an expert ENT panel comprising Dr. Prasad Kelkar, Solapur; Dr. Prashant Kevale, Mumbai; Dr. Ritesh Bhagyawant, Sambhajinagar; and Dr. Sanjay Bhagat, Gondia, who served as the chief guests and expert faculty for the workshop. The event was highly appreciated for its academic content, meticulous organisation and excellent hospitality. The major highlight was the meticulously prepared cadavers, which provided a remarkably life-like dissection experience and received appreciation from both the expert faculty and delegates. This crucial component was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Prashant Moolya, Professor, Department of Anatomy. The concept, planning and execution of the workshop were pioneered by Dr. Rajiv Keni and Dr. Prateek Shahane, Assistant Professors, Department of ENT. The entire ENT team, including faculty, residents, nursing and non-nursing staff, worked relentlessly throughout the three days to ensure the seamless conduct of the programme. Successfully organising such a large-scale advanced rhinology and skull base academic activity in a rural hospital setting is a significant achievement and reflects the institution’s commitment to excellence in medical education, surgical training and multidisciplinary academic collaboration.
