Marking the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, Mridgandh, the cultural club of Shri Vitthalrao Joshi University, organised a devotional musical evening on Saturday, 25 July 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Medical Education Unit Hall of the Medical College. The programme brought together faculty members, students, and music enthusiasts in a vibrant celebration of devotion, culture, and Maharashtra’s rich spiritual heritage. The evening commenced with the collective chanting of “Ram Krishna Hari”, led by Pranav Waghchaure along with all the participating artists, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere. The programme featured a series of soulful devotional performances by talented artists. Ms. Swamini Munagekar, Assistant Professor of Music at Shri Vitthalrao Joshi University, presented Roop Pahata Lochani and Bheti Lage Jeeva. Dr. Saurabh Jadhav mesmerised the audience with Pandurang Pandurang and Avaghe Garje Pandharpur, while Dr. Piyush Ugalmugale rendered Kanada Raja Pandharicha. Pranav Waghchaure performed Sundar Te Dhyan, Doni Sarakhe Sarakhe, and Avaghe Garje Pandharpur. Rutuja Derawankar captivated the audience with Alandi He Gaav, Ubha Rahila Vitevari, and Ghagar Gheun. Adding to the devotional ambience, Gaurav Ravanang presented a melodious flute recital featuring Majhe Maher Pandhari and Abeer Gulal. The programme was gracefully anchored by Eshwari Ithape, who also recited the devotional poem Yanda Ghari Ye Vitthala. The musical performances were enriched by instrumental accompaniment from Piyush Shelke on tabla, Soham Khambe on tabla and dholki, Akash Sabale and Shreyas Mane on pakhawaj and cymbals, and Pranav Waghchaure on harmonium. Aarti Chougule and Divya Wakde provided harmonious vocal support as chorus singers throughout the programme. The evening concluded with a soulful rendition of Swami Krupa Kadhi Karnar, based on Raga Bhairavi, presented by Dr. Saurabh Jadhav and Pranav Waghchaure, accompanied by all the participating artists, leaving the audience immersed in devotion and musical bliss. The programme was organised under the guidance of Ms. Swamini Munagekar and Dr. Adwait Godse. Distinguished guests included Dr. Narendra Madhekar, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, and Mr. Gajanan Patil, Department of Physiology. The enthusiastic participation of students and faculty made the event a memorable celebration of faith, music, and cultural heritage, reflecting the true spirit of Ashadhi Ekadashi.
