B.K.L. Walawalkar Rural Medical College & Hospital celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 with great enthusiasm through a two-day programme held on 7th and 8th March. The event was organized to recognize and appreciate the valuable contributions, talents, and achievements of female staff from medical, nursing, and paramedical departments. The celebration focused on empowerment, recognition, and creativity, offering a vibrant platform for women employees to showcase their diverse talents beyond their professional roles. On Day 1, a unique food stall titled “Khamang Katta” (Food Stall / Chat Corner) was organized, where female staff presented a variety of homemade dishes and snacks. The initiative highlighted their culinary skills while fostering team bonding, creativity, and informal interaction among colleagues. Day 2 featured a cultural programme titled “Kshan Sukhache (Moments of Happiness)”, which included engaging performances such as singing, dance, poetry recitation, and a special Navadurga Fashion Show, symbolizing strength, courage, and wisdom of women. The performances reflected confidence, creativity, and unity among participants. The programme was centered around the theme “Give to Gain,” emphasizing the importance of appreciation, encouragement, and collective empowerment. A thoughtful gift exchange activity further promoted self-appreciation and mutual respect among the participants. The event successfully showcased the hidden talents of female staff, strengthened interdepartmental bonding, and boosted confidence and morale. It also reinforced the institution’s commitment to gender equality and an inclusive work culture. The organizing committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to the administration for their support and to all participants and departments for making the celebration a grand success.
