Kasarawadi, Sawarde (Ratnagiri): In a significant step towards enhancing the academic environment and promoting a culture of reading, the “Green Haven Book Lounge” was inaugurated at the Central Library on Tuesday, 24th March 2026, at 11:00 AM. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Avinash Supe, a distinguished medical professional and academician. He currently serves as the Director of Clinical Governance at Hinduja Hospital and Consultant GI Surgeon at Zen Hospital, Chembur. He is also an Emeritus Professor at GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai. The newly developed Green Haven Book Lounge offers a serene, nature-inspired reading space designed with green bamboo and natural ambience. The initiative aims to create a शांत (peaceful) and focused environment that fosters concentration, creativity, and intellectual growth among students and faculty. This transformation of the library space was made possible through the generous support of the Alumni Association, whose contribution was acknowledged with deep gratitude during the event. The upgraded facility reflects the institution’s commitment to providing holistic learning spaces that go beyond traditional classrooms. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Supe emphasized the importance of a शांत and inspiring study environment in shaping young minds and encouraging lifelong learning habits. The Green Haven Book Lounge stands as a symbol of harmony between nature and knowledge, offering a refreshing retreat for readers and a nurturing space for minds to flourish.
