The Department of Biochemistry successfully organized a Poster Competition on the theme “Seasonal Foods and Nutrition in Indian Festivals”   Date of program  16th January 2026  with the participation of 142 students. The primary objective of the program was to create awareness about the importance of consuming seasonal foods during Indian festivals and to emphasize their role in maintaining good health. The competition aimed to highlight the nutritional value of traditional festive foods prepared using locally available and seasonal ingredients. It also promoted indigenous food practices and traditional wisdom associated with Indian festivals. Furthermore, the activity encouraged students to understand the balance between taste, tradition, and nutrition while fostering healthy eating habits. The program also educated participants on how Indian festivals are aligned with seasonal changes and the dietary needs of the body. Participants prepared colorful and informative posters covering various aspects such as seasonal foods used in Indian festivals, nutritional benefits of traditional recipes, regional diversity of festive foods, and the health advantages of consuming locally available seasonal ingredients. The posters effectively incorporated drawings, charts, slogans, and brief explanations to communicate messages related to nutrition, sustainability, and cultural importance. Students demonstrated remarkable creativity while maintaining scientific accuracy. The posters were evaluated by a panel of judges based on relevance to the theme, clarity of content, originality, visual appeal, and presentation skills. The evaluation process ensured fair assessment and recognition of students’ efforts. An interactive session was an integral part of the event, where participants explained their posters to fellow students, faculty members, visitors, and judges. This encouraged meaningful discussions on healthy eating practices, seasonal nutrition, and the importance of traditional foods in maintaining overall health. Overall, the competition was highly informative and engaging, successfully achieving its objectives of spreading awareness about seasonal nutrition, promoting traditional dietary practices, and encouraging creativity among students.
