S.V.J.C.T’s English Medium School & Junior College of Science, Sawarde, organized an insightful session on “The Science Behind Sacred Leaves” by Dr. Manik Phatak, Member, Maharashtra Vruksh Samvardhini Dr. Phatak introduced students to the scientific, medicinal and cultural significance of sacred leaves, including the 21 types of leaves traditionally offered during Ganesh Chaturthi (Ganesh Patri). As part of the programme, a fascinating “Fruits, Seeds and Sacred Leaves Exhibition” was also organized, giving students an opportunity to observe, identify and learn about their uses and importance in nature. The session beautifully connected traditional knowledge, science, biodiversity and environmental conservation, inspiring students to appreciate India’s rich plant diversity.
