VJCT’s B.K.L. Walawalkar College of Physiotherapy provided on-field physiotherapy services during the Taluka Level Athletics Championships 2026, held on 5 and 6 October 2026 at SVJCT Sports Academy.
The championship featured Under-17, Under-14 and Under-19 categories, with athletes participating in a wide range of track and field events, including sprints, middle- and long-distance races, hurdles, jumps, throws and relay events.
A team comprising Dr. Dinesh Sekhar and PG1 students Shubham, Krishnayani and Ishwari W. provided physiotherapy support to the participating athletes. A total of 3 participants were treated for conditions including hamstring issues, muscle tightness, dehydration and shoulder dislocation.
The treatment provided included stretching, cryotherapy, therapeutic exercises, myofascial release (MFR) and crepe bandaging, ensuring timely care and support for athletes during the championship.
