The second edition of Shivranjani, a music and cultural initiative for medical students, was successfully held in 2025, continuing the innovative vision started in 2024 by Dr. Netaji Patil and Bhaktashreshtha Kamalakarpant Laxmanrao Walawalkar, under the guidance of Dr. Suvarna Patil. The initiative aims to nurture musical talents in students while fostering mutual respect, teamwork, and holistic development.

The event was organized on Phalgun Krishna Dvitiiya (the day before Shivaji Jayanti) and meticulously coordinated by Dr. Advait Godse from the Department of Physiology, with guidance from Dr. Suvarna Patil and Dr. Netaji Patil. The program blended historical, cultural, and devotional themes, combining songs inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharashtra’s saints, and Indian classical traditions into a two-hour musical celebration.

Performances by both returning artists—Dr. Mihir Bairat (MD Radiology), Pranav Waghchaure, Shreyas Mane—and new participants showcased vocal and instrumental excellence, including Tabla, Pakhawaj, and melodic accompaniments. Highlights included devotional medleys, classical abhangs, bhakti and love songs, and patriotic renditions honoring Indian armed forces. Notable pieces like “Shivsamaragada” arati, “Namo Namo Ji Shankara,” “Veḍha Veḍha Re Pandhari,” and “Kesari” captivated the audience.

The program beautifully combined musical training, cultural heritage, and spiritual reflection, creating a highly engaging and enriching experience. Esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Shripad Banawali, Dr. Suvarna Patil, Dr. Nerurkar, Sau. Mukta Walawalkar, Shri Vijay Joshi, and Dr. Netaji Patil graced the occasion, offering their blessings and appreciation.

Shivranjani 2025 successfully reinforced the values of tradition, collaboration, and devotion among students, leaving the audience inspired and eagerly anticipating future editions of this innovative cultural initiative.
