The School District Level Kho Kho Tournament was organized at the Shri Vitthalrao Joshi Charities Trust Sports Complex from October 7 to October 9, 2025. A record total of 810 players participated in this tournament, including 27 boys’ teams and 27 girls’ teams in the under-14, under-17, and under-19 age groups.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by dignitaries including District Sports Officer Vijay Shinde, Sports Executive Officer Aishwarya Sawant, Sports Director Shrikant Paradkar, and from the Ratnagiri District Kho-Kho Association, Sandeep Tawade, Vinod Mayekar, Rakesh Malap, and others. From the initial rounds of the tournament, the players displayed fast-paced action, earning praise from the attendees. Many matches in the competition were fiercely contested, with teams securing victory by a margin of just one point. The large number of supporters who came with each team, in addition to the players, demonstrated that the game of Kho Kho is a favorite sport among the district’s sports enthusiasts.

Tournament Results are as follows:

  • In the Under-14 Boys category, the Lanja team defeated the Chiplun team in the final match to win the championship. The Rajapur team secured the third position.
  • In the Under-14 Girls category, the Ratnagiri team defeated the Lanja team in the final match to win the championship. The Chiplun team secured the third position.
  • In the Under-17 Boys category, the Lanja team secured the first position in a fiercely contested final match against Rajapur. The Rajapur team secured the third position.
  • In the Under-17 Girls category, the Ratnagiri team emerged victorious in the intensely fought final match against Rajapur. The Khed team finished in third place.
  • In the Under-19 Boys category, the Sangameshwar team was the title winner, while the Rajapur team secured the second position. The Ratnagiri team finished in third place.
  • In the Under-19 Girls final match, the Sangameshwar team achieved a thrilling victory over the Ratnagiri team to claim the championship. The Chiplun team secured the third position.
