Mission Spine foundation course 2025 Successfully Conducted at BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College
Ratnagiri, September 28, 2025:
The Department of Orthopaedics, Anatomy, and Radiology at B. K. L. Walawalkar Rural Medical College, Kasarwadi, Ratnagiri, successfully organized Mission Spine foundation course 2025, a specialized Basic and Advanced Course on Transforaminal Disc and Stenosis Surgery under Local Anaesthesia, from 17th to 28th September 2025.
The program was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and concluded with a valedictory ceremony, certificate distribution, and feedback session on the final day.
The course brought together an interdisciplinary team of eminent faculties, including:
- Dr. Satishchandra Gore, internationally acclaimed Endoscopic Spine Surgeon from Pune, with over 26 years of pioneering experience in endoscopy.
- Dr. Sunil Nadkarni, Consultant Spine Surgeon, BKLWRMC.
- Dr. Netaji Patil, Consultant Radiologist, BKLWRMC.
- Dr. Onkar Sudame, Assistant Professor, Orthopaedics, BKLWRMC.
- Dr. Prashant Moolya, Professor of Anatomy, BKLWRMC.
Highlights of the course included:
- Cadaver dissections with hands-on training using soft-embalmed cadavers.
- Live operative demonstrations conducted by expert faculty.
- Training in advanced techniques such as the Eklavya Method, VAJRA, HO YAG Laser, and flexible endoscopy for ventral stenosis.
- Delegate assessments, certifications, and interactive academic sessions.
The program had a dual impact—patients benefitted as complex spine surgeries were performed at subsidized rates under the care of expert surgeons, while delegates received invaluable practical training and exposure to the latest innovations in minimally invasive spine surgery.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Dr. Satishchandra Gore said:

advanced spine care at affordable costs.”
Mission Spine 2025 was widely appreciated for its academic rigor, community service, and hands-on experience, further strengthening BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College’s role as a hub for advanced surgical training and patient care in rural Maharashtra.
