Theme : “One Million More Midwives”
SVJCT’s Samarth Nursing College, Kasarwadi celebrated International Midwives’ Day 2026 by organising two engaging events- a Quiz Competition and a Midwives’ Experience Sharing Session. The events were carried out by Prof. Jessey Jacob, Vice- Principal and HOD, Department of OBGY, under the guidance of Prof. Tejal Surve, Principal. The quiz competition was conducted enthusiastically with the participation of seven groups of students. The event encouraged students to enhance their knowledge related to midwifery and maternal health care while promoting teamwork and active learning. An Experience Sharing Session was also organised to provide students with practical insights from the field of maternity care. Two labour room staff members, Ms. Nilam Sagvekar and Ms. Anushree Bhopalkar shared their valuable experiences and highlighted the importance of compassionate and skilled midwifery care. Prof. Jessey Jacob, Vice- Principal and HOD, Department of OBGY, and Ms. Varsha Khambe, Assistant Professor, Child Health Nursing Department, also shared their professional experiences and guidance with the students. The programme was informative, interactive, and inspiring for all participants, making the celebration meaningful and memorable.
