B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital celebrated the Dahi Handi festival with great enthusiasm and community spirit. On this special occasion, 38 children from the village of Pimpli Pedhambe were invited to participate in the festivities and undergo comprehensive health examinations.

The event beautifully combined cultural celebration with a health initiative, ensuring that each child received proper medical attention. During the visit, children were provided with complimentary medications, and their parents were given guidance on child health, hygiene, and nutrition by the hospital’s pediatricians and interns. Additionally, informative videos demonstrating quick and healthy cooking practices were shown to promote nutritional awareness among families.

In keeping with tradition, the Dahi Handi pot—filled with churmure, gram, peanuts, and phutane—was hung high above the ground, as children joyfully formed human towers to reach it. The lively chants of “Govinda Ala Re Ala” filled the air as the handi was broken, symbolizing unity and festive joy.

All participants, including children and their parents, were offered prasad, nutritious ladoos, and wholesome meals. The event successfully reflected Walawalkar Hospital’s commitment to blending cultural values with public health awareness, nurturing both tradition and well-being in the community.
