A lecture on the topic “Bhagavad Gita for Digital Age – In Sight for Young Girls” was organized at B.K.L. Walawalkar Rural Medical College on 10th December 2025.

Dr. Sucheta Paranjape, a well-known Vedic scholar from ‘Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune’, was the speaker for this lecture.

Dr. Sucheta Paranjpe has completed her postgraduate studies in Vedic Studies and has also worked effectively as a professor of Sanskrit and Indology at Tilak Maharashtra University and Pune University. She contributed to the Mahabharata project of the Bhandarkar Institute. She played a role in the Mahabharata initiative of the Bhandarkar Institute. She similarly left her imprint on the Vedas in America. She was employed at the “Edition Cultural Index”. During her promotional efforts related to the Vedas, she observed that only individuals who study the Vedas, learn Sanskrit, and possess knowledge on the subject attend different conferences and seminars. However, our Vedas and our Sanskrit language should reach with those who are unaware of them. Many individuals find this topic intriguing but struggle to grasp it. To connect with these individuals, she began sharing knowledge about the Vedas through various means like speaking, writing, and public speaking. The affection for Sanskrit and Sanskriti (culture) that people have, begun to motivate her efforts in this area.

She is conveying the Vedas that she cherishes to those people with the same devotion. She earnestly says that the Vedas are our heritage, and we all should turn to the Vedas. We ourselves should read the Vedas, learn them; while studying the Vedas, our minds are put at ease. She aspires to witness this invaluable gem of Indian heritage attain its pinnacle of glory.

She is insistent that the Vedas should reach the masses in the future and is also working towards that. There is a growing curiosity among people about the Vedas. The number of social classes and institutions that have an affinity for the Vedas is increasing.

In the fast-paced environment of contemporary life, particularly in the digital era, individuals are facing heightened levels of anxiety, stress, and depression, as well as challenges in making sound decisions during times of uncertainty. Consequently, the Bhagavad Gita offers us valuable insights and guidance on these matters. Therefore, everyone should definitely read the Bhagavad Gita!

During our seminar, she provided guidance on how the Bhagavad Gita articulates the concepts of Karma, Dharma, Dnyana, and Bhakti Yoga, and she also encouraged us to explore the Bhagavad Gita in various languages. She emphasized that the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, despite being composed many years ago, remain pertinent in every age.
