S.V.J.C.T’s English Medium School & Junior College of Science, Sawarde, organised an informative, insightful and inspiring session on “Extraction of Fragrance from Flowers” on 31 August 2026. We were privileged to welcome Dr. Manjushri Deodhar, Founder Member, V. G. Vaze College, Mulund, Mumbai, as the guest speaker. With her rich expertise in Botany, teaching, research and innovation, she took students on a fascinating journey into the world of natural fragrances. Students explored: Traditional Indian methods of fragrance extraction, Extraction of essential oils from indigenous flowers, Importance of conserving rare & endangered floral species, Cultural and scientific significance of attars and atural fragrances, Applications of science in natural products and research The session encouraged curiosity, scientific thinking and learning beyond the classroom.
