A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) guest lecture on “IPR & Copyrights” was held on 1st March 2025, delivered by Ms. Yamini Kulkarni, an expert in Intellectual Property Rights and Copyright Law.
Ms. Kulkarni presented an insightful overview of key IPR concepts, covering patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. She highlighted the significance of protecting creative and academic work, explained the legal procedures for filing IPR applications, and addressed common challenges faced by academicians and researchers.
A special focus was given to copyright issues related to teaching materials, research publications, digital content, and institutional academic outputs.
The session witnessed active participation from 31 faculty members, who discussed real-time scenarios and clarified doubts regarding the application and advantages of IPR in academic settings. The lecture helped enhance faculty understanding of safeguarding innovation, maintaining academic integrity, and promoting a strong research culture.
The program was successfully organized as part of the Faculty Development initiatives, aiming to build IPR awareness and strengthen professional competencies among teaching staff.
