A two-day Cadaveric Workshop and Sinus Surgery Camp was successfully organized by the ENT and Anatomy Departments of B.K.L. Walawalkar Rural Medical College & Hospital on 21st and 22nd September 2024. The camp focused on advanced telescope-assisted sinus surgeries, benefitting 20 patients who received specialized care free of cost.
A total of 25 ENT specialists from Mumbai and Sangli-Miraj participated in the event, sharing their expertise and techniques. Among the notable specialists were Dr. Milind Navlakhe (K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai), Dr. Sachin Nilakhe (Sangli), and Dr. Rahul Gosavi (Miraj). The workshop featured cadaveric demonstrations, followed by live surgeries that showcased complex sinus procedures using modern endoscopic methods.
The program served as an invaluable learning opportunity for young doctors and postgraduate students, allowing them to observe expert surgical practices firsthand. The anesthesia team—Dr. Leena Thakur, Dr. Pradeep Sandeep Rao, Dr. Gaurav Baviskar, and Dr. Manisha—played a key role in ensuring smooth and safe execution of all procedures.
The ENT Department, under the dedicated guidance of Dr. Pratik Shahane and Dr. Rajiv Keni, continues to deliver remarkable results and stands as a cornerstone of specialized patient care at Walawalkar Hospital.
